Brand - Not just for Cattle Ranchers anymore
Brand (noun) - More than just a cute logo
Branding is an important concept in marketing ... ranging from Personal Brands to Big Brands. We are constantly talking about brands and share are thoughts both on and offline about our favorite people, products, or services. The word brand began from frontier days as the imprint left by a hot iron stamp on cattle to tell which ranch the cow came from. This word has been adopted, expanded, and highly referenced from trade marks to speaker platforms. Personally, I like Seth Godin's definition best:
A brand is the set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another. If the consumer (whether it’s a business, a buyer, a voter or a donor) doesn’t pay a premium, make a selection or spread the word, then no brand value exists for that consumer.
Now, here is a message from my favorite YouTube Brand: "Old Spice Man"

definition for brand
Here's my simple definition of brand:
Brand is the premium you pay between two otherwise undifferentiated products.
